BOVEY Tracey Bowling Club are delighted to report that their mother and daughter players, Sue Johnson and Heidi Call, have been awarded their Bowls Devon County badges. The presentation took place at Plymouth’s Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club, with their badges being received from ladies' president, Sandra Andrews.

The Bowls Devon blog reported that it was the first time in their history that a mother and daughter had received their county badges at the same time. Congratulations to them both.

Next, some results from various county competitions: Chris Towle & Kath Callard have won Section 5 of the Ladies Minor Over 70 Pairs, winning 22-8 (conceded) against E Libby & M Murgatroyd of Bitton Park and will now play the winners of section 3.

Sarah Breame is through to the ladies’ singles final (unbadged section 5) after winning 21-20 against Jane Sleight of Bitton Park. Sarah & Kenny Breame are through to the mixed pairs semi-final (section 5) after beating Sheila & Mark Fisher of Starcross 19-16 on an extra end.

Kenny Breame & Roger Bailey reached the men's pairs semi-final (unbadged section 5) after winning 23-15 against Ian Swaffield & Steve Tippin at Newton Abbot.

In the men's Mid-Devon League at Marldon, Bovey did well to win two of the four rinks but were beaten overall on the aggregate scores. D Anderson, J Farley, N Botham, M Webber 12-24; C Miall, A Chew, K Lockett, D Saunders 22-19; P Cridge, R Smith, K Breame, E Ridgewell 24-18; R Arnold, S Callard, C Shorland, P Joy 15-29. In the men’s Over 55s at Abbrook Park, the rinks were shared one each with Abbrook taking the aggregate points 43-32. K Lockett, D Saunders, P Joy 21-19; D Anderson, P Cridge, R Bailey 11-24. League points, Abbrook Park 6 - Bovey Tracey 2.

A home friendly against Babbacombe resulted in the closest of wins for the visitors by one shot overall after the rinks were shared two apiece.
