NINE Haldon Trail Runners competed in some very different races close to home and overseas at the weekend.

Lizzy Dyson, Jonathan Armes and Alice Stuckey raced in the 6.5-mile East Mill Loop fell race from Belstone on Dartmoor on Saturday.

Lizzy brought the team home as she was the first woman and sixth overall in a time of 54.08, with Alice 26th in 1:12.56 and Jonathan 27th in 1:13.36.

Also on Saturday, Cat Matthews took part in the Oslo half marathon - but not before she warmed up with a PB of 26.03 in the Nansenparken parkrun in the morning! She finished the half marathon in the afternoon in 2:07.03.

On Sunday, Anthea Board and Mai Warren both did the Newton Abbot Ladies' 10k and finished second in their over-60 and over-35 age categories, respectively.

Club chair Anthea crossed the line in 12th place in 47.13 and Mai was 29th in 52.51.

Mimi McDowell travelled to Dorset for the CapTEN fell race, which is now 11 miles and takes in parts of the South West Coast Path, with 3,200ft of climb. She crossed the line in 2:14.28, putting her 16th.

Also on Sunday, Matt Richards had intended to take part in the Dawlish Triathlon by himself, but as he was injured he did the sea swim and Will Evans did the cycling and running legs. Together they won the relay team category, in an overall time of 1:27.01.
