The woman found dead in Teignmouth cemetery on Saturday (July 13) has been named as 49-year-old Charlotte Ann Johnson.

An inquest into Charlotte’s death opened on Monday (July 15). Senior coroner for Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Philip Spinney reported that the care work manager, who lived in Teignmouth, had taken excessive prescribed medication and was found suspended by a ligature.

Emergency services were called to the cemetery on Saturday after a member of the public found the body of a woman. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.47pm.

The inquest has been adjourned to a later date.
