Bovey Tracey Primary School's Year 4 tag rugby team are off to Twickenham after winning the MBNA tackling numbers tournament.

The programme and tournament, which is run by Exeter Chiefs, culminated in the final taking place at Sandy Park, where Bovey ran out winners by three tries to two against Babbacombe to book their place at Twickenham, where they will playing in front of a packed house before the start of the Aviva Championship Final tomorrow.

'This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these youngsters, who are training hard for their match on Twickenham's hallowed turf against a school from another region,' said a spokesman for the school.

Not to be outdone by their younger schoolmates, the Year 5/6 team have qualified for the Devon finals, to be played at Cullompton RFC at the end of this month.
