NEWTON Abbot made an appearance on national television this week.
The historic market town featured on BBC1’s long-running quiz show, Pointless.
Hosted by Alexander Armstrong, the show sees contestants try and score as few points as possible by guessing the least popular answer.
Newton Abbot featured on episode 44 of series 32, which aired on January 28, as one of the five towns and cities to start with the word ‘new’.
Scoring 21 out of 100 points, Roo and Andy’s guess of Newton Abbot put them them ahead of fellow contestants Jo and Sarah, who incorrectly guessed Newark-on-Trent to be Newton-on-Trent, a village in Lincolnshire.
