THE first ever craft fair organised by a group of young people from Newton Abbot takes place next month.
The Courtenay Centre will play host to Newton Abbot Youth Council’s inaugural art and craft event from 11am to 3pm on February 22.
Council members will be selling goods that they made themselves; there will also be a jumble sale.
A weekly drop-in session for young people aged between 11 and 16-years-old, Newton Abbot Youth Council gives young people the opportunity to create change in the community, gain valuable leadership and social skills and meet friends.
The group have completed an audit of the town, as well as having been consulted on the new ‘Community Tree’ mural planned for Golden Lion Square.
