AN evening of light-hearted, dart-flinging competition in Teignmouth raised thousands for a dementia charity.
Organised by John Pearce and hosted by the town’s social club, the night saw £2,000 raised for The Young Ones, a charity that supports people with young-onset dementia.
Teign Brewery were crowned the winners, with the team donating their £100 cash prize back to the charity.
Scott Richard Solicitors came runners-up.
The evening, which took place on Wednesday, October 23, was notable for another reason, as it was in memory of David Head, who had organised the event in the past, alongside John, before his death after having been diagnosed with dementia.
‘It was a great night, a lot of local businesses supported it’ said John, who himself lives with dementia.
‘It took round two months to organise’ John added.
There was also an auction and a raffle, which saw more than 50 prizes donated from local businesses.
