CURWORTHY Cheese, who regularly attend Teignmouth Farmers’ Market, have wiped the board at the Devon County Show taking first prize in four categories of cheese and winning the Champions sash for their popular Haytor cheese.
Rachel Stephens, ‘the big cheese’, has been head cheese maker for more than 30 years. She and her team at this artisan dairy make cheeses, yogurts and clotted cream.
Curworthy is one of the founder stallholders and firm supporters of Teignmouth’s monthly farmers’ market.
Other stallholders have their own stories of awards and prizes. The remit of the market is to provide quality food, locally produced and seasonal.
This month with the start of summer, look for summer bedding plants and vegetable seedlings from Springfield Nursery and the first of the elderflower cordial from Shute Fruit and Produce.
Be a winner and shop the Teignmouth Farmers’ Market in The Triangle on Saturday, May 27, and every last Saturday of the month between 10 am and 2pm.
