CHILDREN at a Newton Abbot primary school have been celebrating Christmas and supporting Rowcroft Hospice.
Pupils at Highweek Community Primary and Nursery School participated in The Rudolph Run alongside school mascot, Bobbi Bulb.
A school spokesman said: ‘This event supports a wonderful cause, as all funds raised go to Rowcroft Hospice which is a charity close to the hearts of many in our community.
‘We want to thank everyone who took part and contributed to making this event a success.
‘The children showed tremendous spirit and dedication, demonstrating the true values of our school and community.’
Meanwhile the children in Key Stage 1 took to the stage for a festive performance of Born In A Barn.
Their show entertained and ‘dazzled’ the audience.
A school spokesman said: ‘The show was absolutely amazing, with every child playing their part beautifully, and the effort put into the production truly shone through.
‘The children looked fantastic in their costumes, capturing the essence of the nativity with creativity and charm.
‘This production was a true testament to the dedication of both the pupils and the staff, who have worked tirelessly to make the show such a success.
‘Their hard work paid off, providing an unforgettable experience for all who attended.
‘Congratulations to everyone involved and we are so proud of your efforts and talent.;’
One the show’s sheep was played by pupil Lydia Bourne who was described as looking ‘radiant; and gave a ‘heartwarming’ performance.
The Rudolph Run for Rowcroft Hospice gives schools and nurseries the chance to raise vital funds.
Each school choses the date, location and distance for their run.
Every child taking part receives a fund raising pack and sponsorship form.
