Rowers will be marking 100 years since the first Barham Cup this Sunday (June 23).
The dinghy relay will start at 6:30pm from the Fish Quay in Teignmouth. Teams and singles will race up the river Teign to Coombe Cellars where they will change crews and then continue up to Newton Abbot quay.
The race commemorates the visit of HMS Barham to Teignmouth in 1924. The Barham Cup was a gift from the ship to the town after the crew raced local fishermen in the first Barham Cup.
The Barham Cup is now organised by Teignmouth Regatta and supported by Teignmouth and Newton Abbot Town Councils.
