Humphrey Clemens receives a commendation from Devon Fire Brigade Divisional Officer in March 1986. The award was following Mr Clemens' courageous actions on January 28, 1986, when at risk to his own safety he twice entered burning buildings at Middle Holcombe Cottages to lead occupants to safety.
