Mariners were able to get crime prevention advice earlier this week at a free property marking event at Teignmouth’s Polly Steps.

Devon and Cornwall Police marked 35 items including vessels and outboards and gave advice about coastal crime prevention including information about what to look out for and how to report maritime crime.

The police will be holding another free maritime property marking event from 10am on Tuesday August 24.

‘Property marking is an effective deterrent for opportunist thieves and helps us to reunite stolen goods with their rightful owner,’ a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said.
