Hundreds of Kingskerswell residents descended on the village playing field on Saturday (August 24) for the Parish Council’s Grand Summer Event.
Despite non-stop rain overnight, the sun came out in time for the 11am start. Visitors were treated to a wide variety of entertainment from face painting to demonstrations from local groups and live music.
Demonstrations ranged from Kingskerswell Amateur Theatre Society to the Paignton Sapphires twirling group. And the live music acts included Men Behaving Badly, Charlie Storer, Simply Blue, Cadence and Jail Rocks.
Along with the entertainment, there was plenty to see with stalls from a variety of local organisations and businesses including Hector’s House cat Rescue, Kerswella, Bays Brewery and Torbay Hospital Radio.
Kingskerswell Parish Council deemed the event ‘a huge success for our village’ and thanked the parish councillors, their families, and everyone who volunteered their time to make the grand summer event happen.
