A CHAIN retailer selling jewellery and fashion accessories is to close its Newton Abbot shop.

Claire’s Accessories’ closing down sale has begun.

The jewellery, accessory and beauty product shop will close within the next couple of weeks.

The reason for the closure is not yet known, but it is no secret that the Market Square has suffered declining footfall over the years, which is likely to have contributed to the decision to close the branch.

With Claire’s Accessories gone, the Market Square will have yet another vacant unit - the most recent departure being the town’s Wilko.
