REVISED designs submitted by Premier Inn for a £5 million hotel at Ashburton have been dismissed as a ‘monstrosity.’

Two former town mayors used the same word to describe the amended proposals lodged this week with Dartmoor planners for the 80-bedroom building next to the town’s police station off the A38.

But Premier insist they have collaborated closely with the national park authority to thrash out a design acceptable to both parties.
