A NEWTON Abbot man has been found guilty of strangulation and assault of a woman.
Christopher Locke, aged 41, of Whitelake Place, West Golds Way, pleaded not guilty to assault by beating of a woman in Newton Abbot. But he was found guilty by the Magistrates' Court.
Locke was also found guilty that he intentionally strangled the woman in Newton Abbot.
A further charge of assaulting the woman by beating was dismissed when no evidence was offered.
He was remanded on conditional bail on a further charge of breaching bail conditions.
The case was adjourned to August 11 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
