AS part of its Artist Development programme, Plymouth’s Theatre Royal Plymouth has partnered with PROJEKT EUROPA to offer a new opportunity for migrant artists based in the South West to develop co-created work.

PROJEKT ELEVATE will award three migrant theatre makers a paid development opportunity to produce an original idea for a co-created project in collaboration with their local communities.

The programme will culminate with the artists presenting ideas to TRP’s artistic leadership team, who will consider the proposed project for further development.

‘As a cultural organisation TRP has an important part to play in promoting inclusivity in the arts, ensuring people of all backgrounds are empowered to express their creativity and deepen their artistic practice,’ said  TRP’s Artistic Director Malaika Kegode

‘This project gives us the opportunity to reach and celebrate migrant theatre-makers in the south west at a time that feels especially vital to do so.’

We are thrilled to be partnering with TRPto offer this unique development opportunity to migrant artists in the South West,’ added PROJEKT EUROPA Artistic Director Maria Aberg

‘This project, now in its third year, is the only one of its kind in the UK and we're proud to support migrant artists to develop work for and with their local communities, and to forge strong links with theatres around the country.’

Applications are still open to South West-based migrant artists until next Friday ( August 30) .
