AN artist celebrating nearly three decades living in Teignmouth is holding an exhibition on her work.
Many artists living and working in Teignmouth have Jane Branch to thank for inspiration and support.
As well as producing a huge volume of her own work, Jane has spent the last 27 years or so nurturing other artists in the area, from raw beginners to established and emerging artists.
And now the artist is holding a retrospective exhibition of her work at TAAG Arts & Community Centre on Northumberland Place from Saturday, November 9, to Friday, November 22.
Jane's work is all based on careful observation and uses very varied styles - large oil paintings, acrylic, ceramics, mixed media and charcoal drawings.
The artist will be present at TAAG centre for most of the time to talk to visitors.
What advice would Jane give to someone wanting to take up art?
‘Draw everyday’ says Jane.
‘Also draw what you see, not what you think you see!’ the artist added.
