MEANINGFUL discussion and responsible management of money, resources and services are among the pledges made by Teignbridge District Council (TDC) as its long-term strategy is approved by councillors.
Dubbed ‘One Teignbridge’, the document outlines Teignbridge District Council’s (TDC) strategy for 2024 to 2029.
It outlines five priorities: community; economy environment homes, and infrastructure.
• Making sure residents can see how and why decisions are being made;
• Taking action to reduce its carbon footprint and supporting communities to do the same;
• Creating opportunities for healthier and happier living;
• Speaking up for communities to improve services that other organisations provide;
• Focusing non-statutory projects on communities and environments that are most vulnerable.
In its latest newsletter, the council said: ‘It also details how we will work with communities across the district to make sure our work focusses on what’s important to residents and businesses, and how our projects and services will deliver on these priorities.
‘The strategy was compiled after extensive consultation with hundreds of residents, community groups, voluntary organisations and businesses across Teignbridge, and by analysing detailed data about the district.
‘We will now develop an action plan showing detailed information on how we will achieve these priorities and measure their progress.’
Councillors approved the strategy at a meeting of full council on January 14.
The council have produced a two-page infographic summarising the key points of One Teignbridge.
