TEIGNBRIDGE District Council (TDC) says it is proud to once again be joining a national campaign aimed at reducing food waste.

The UK’s biggest annual food waste reduction campaign, Food Waste Action Week runs from March 17 to March 23.

The campaign aims to get more people talking about the benefits of buying fruit and vegetables loose.

It is spearheaded by Waste and Resources Action Programme’s ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ brand, which runs campaigns aimed at radically reducing the amount of food which is wasted in UK homes.

In its latest recycling related bulletin, TDC said ‘Buying your fruit and veg loose also means that you can choose the quality that you prefer too – a slightly greener banana, one rosy, red apple or the perfect potatoes for jackets!

‘So, why not give it a try?
