AN animal rescue charity has been busy plating saplings on land it purchased to build a new rescue centre.

Gifted the young trees by the Woodland Trust, volunteers from ELM Wildlife eagerly set about planting the saplings in the field bought by the charity to one day be the home of a purpose-built rescue cnetre.

At present, the charity, set up by Rick, Jacky and Emily Parker in 2018, are based at premises at Seale Hayne.

The charity’s goal is to move out and build a rescue centre on its land, hence it has launched a GoFundMe to help raise the necessary funds associated with such a project.

‘There is not a lot we are able to do on the land until planning is granted, but when the Woodland Trust gifted us some trees to plan a native fruiting hedge, we were thrilled’ the charity said.

The charity were gifted more than 400 saplings.
