SEVEN charities have benefited directly from Dawlish Water Rotary Club’s Mega Quiz held last month. Other charities will be supported during the Rotary year as the quiz raised an amazing £3,000.

The seven prize-winning teams nominated the following charities and good causes to receive their prize money are: Hennock Community Primary School, AIMS, The Brain Tumour Charity, CEDA ( Community Equality Disability Action In Devon), Neuroblastoma ( a rare cancer that affects children), Teignbridge Homeless Action Today and Rowcroft Hospice.

There was a tie for first place between the Palk Arms and the Swan Inn and they each received £100 and will share the Heavitree Brewery trophy. 

There was also a tie for the largest number of players in the team between The Artichoke and the Marine Tavern in Dawlish they each received £50. 

Finally, three teams came joint third - The Anchor at Cockwood, the Cridford Inn and the Shipwrights Arms which each received £25.
