An women’s activity club that disbanded last year has donated more than £3000 to three local charities.

For 30 years, the Women’s Challenge Club organised activities ranging from abseiling and canoeing to fabric painting and first aid training. It aimed to encourage women to improve their confidence and push the boundaries of what they thought they could achieve.

However, Covid lockdowns put a stop to the group’s adventures and when restrictions were lifted interest in the group failed to pick up.

On closing, the club agreed to distribute its remaining funds between three local charities. It donated £1106.05 to Dartmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI), £1095.05 to Dartmoor Search and Rescue and £1106.05 to the Devon Air Ambulance.
