A body of a woman was found in a cemetery in Teignmouth on Saturday (July 13) prompting a huge response from emergency services.

Emergency services including the police and the Devon Air Ambulance attended the scene after a member of the public reported finding the body of a woman in Teignmouth Old Cemetery off Higher Buckeridge Road.

‘A woman was pronounced dead at the scene,’ a spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed. ‘The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner,’ the spokesperson added.

The dead woman’s next of kin have been informed.
