ON September 9 I hosted the Portreeve’s Posh Ploughman’s and Pud evening in Ashburton Town Hall to raise funds for Moorland Community Caring, writes Karen Turner.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this. It was a fun evening of eating, drinking and dancing and we raised a marvellous £1,490.

On October 14 in Ashburton Town Hall I am delighted that Rob McNichol, carnival quizmaster, will be doing what he does best for one night only The Portreeve’s Quiz.

The bar opens at 7pm and the quiz starts at 7.30pm. £10 per team of up to six members. There will also be a raffle. All proceeds once again to Moorland Community Caring.

The revised Ale Tasting and Bread Weighing Ceremony in next week’s edition, which is on 30th September from 2pm starting at St Lawrence Lane.
