A DRINK-driver from Kingskerswell has been banned for 17 months.
Samuel Luke Cooper, aged 35, of Greenhill Road, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit in Pottery Road, Bovey Tracey, while over the limit.
He gave a reading of 71 mcgs in 100 mls of breath, the legal limit is 35 mcgs.
South and West Devon Magistrates' Court banned him for 17 months and this could be reduced by 17 weeks on completion of a course.
Cooper was also fined £450 and ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £225 to fund victim services.
No separate penalty was imposed for driving without insurance and without a test certificate for the Transit. He pleaded guilty to these offences.
