MANDI Robson, Fit2Run’s finest, took part in an evening event in Perranporth on Saturday 29 June.

The ‘Summer Sunset Half Marathon’ is the event in question, run by Purple Gecko, and Mandi came 1st in V60!

It was an incredibly tough event, an out and back to Crantock (highlighted by the fact that Mandi was the oldest female taking part).

Starting with approximately two miles of beach across Perranporth, and then a steep climb up onto the rugged coast path towards Bowgie Point, returning over the dunes to the soft-sand finish on the beach.

Mandi completed the race in a very impressive time of 2.51.

Purple Gecko always runs excellent events and it is really nice to have an evening event in the summer. All proceeds raised went to the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
