SIX Haldon Trail Runners competed in off-road races at the weekend.
Four club members took on the 22-mile Exe to Axe race from Exmouth to Seaton along the South West Coast Path on Sunday, April 6.
Katie McCullagh was the first HTR to finish in the East Devon sunshine, coming home in 18th place overall and first in the open female category in a time of 3:31.24. She was followed by Will Evans, who was 32nd in 3:55.43, with Matt Havard 38th in 4:00.53 and Rebecca Gilbert 86th in 4:29.32.
In addition, Cat Matthews did the first 11 miles of the full race, finishing in Sidmouth in the event called Exe to Sid. She crossed the line seventh overall and first female over-40 in 2:25.15.
On Saturday, April 5, Nick Warren did the 10-mile Power Run around the grounds of the Powderham Castle estate in Kenton. He finished 43rd in 1:32.02.
Meanwhile, entries are open for the club’s five-mile Forest Flyer race at Haldon Forest Park on Saturday, July 12.
