WILL Evans led the nine-strong group of Haldon Trail Runners taking part in last week’s Coastal Dash in Dawlish Warren.

He finished 26th in 28.10 whilst Nat Charlton-Bowern was next home for the club in 36th place in 29.23, then Jonathan Armes 38th in 29.30, Alice Stuckey 42nd in 30.27, Anthea Board 44th in 30.53, Jon Harvey 52nd in 32.13, Val Blacklock 97th in 36.20, Cat Matthews 128th in 38.57 and Holly Manigan 175th in 43.49.

At the weekend, Miriam McDowell finished third female and ninth overall at the 16-mile Tsunami race from Hartland Quay along the coast path and over the border to finish in Bude in 3:02.42.

Simon Bunday took on the Hampshire Hoppit half marathon, which started and finished at White Hill near Kingsclere and there was 1,400ft of elevation to contend with. He finished in a time of 2:33.12 for 213th place.

The previous weekend, there were wins in their categories for Anthea and new member Hannah Lapka at the 32-mile Dartmoor Discovery and the Shiver Me Timbers 10-miler respectively.

Lastly for Haldon, the aforementioned Cat did the Roadford Reservoir 10k at the start of June and finished 62nd in 1:04.25.

Dawlish Coasters were also in action with a trio travelling to the very windy but unusually sunny English Riviera for the inaugural Torbay Twilight 10K. Comprising of just under seven laps of the Velopark, all three defied the challenging conditions and posted excellent times. First Coaster home was Garrie Edwards (31st - 40:39), closely followed by Andy MacMillan (35th - 41:16 PB) and Estelle Skinner (96th - 52:42 PB).
