YOUNG Mid Devon riders impressed at both the National MTB XC at Cannock Chase and the Castle Coombe Series races this weekend!

At the Under 14s level, Matt Holmes and James Allen continued their strong showings at the former, placing a close 17th and 19th respectively. Also, Lauren Fox, despite a crash, maintained her podium streak with a hard-fought 2nd place in the earlier short-track race.

Meanwhile, Under 16 Henry Cadwallader battled hard in a competitive field, taking 24th place, whilst Laura Dix stole the show with a fantastic 7th-place finish!

Elsewhere at Castle Coombe, Under 16 duo Bayley Woodger and Meryn Kitching took on the challenge of round four. Both aimed for a breakaway but ultimately settled for a thrilling sprint finish- Bayley secured a well-deserved 2nd place, while Meryn crossed the line in 4th.
