NEWTON Abbot Darts recently held an evening of five finals with plenty of noteworthy action.
Wayne Langdon and Mike Rogers (Newtons) came out on top in the open pairs but their success was matched and then some by the Golden Lions’ team. Not only did they win the threes but their very own Curtis Green and Ian Loveridge prevailed in the men’s pairs as well. The opponents in that one were Jon and Kelvin Bush, of The Taphouse Arrows.
Onto the singles now and the ladies’ final went the way of Kelly-Marie Gabriel, at the expense of Sam Mortimore. Then, Jason Welsh was crowned as the men’s champion after beating Shane Fisher 3-1.
Proceedings were brought to a close with Chris Raes, the league secretary, being presented with a silver tankard as thanks from all of the league for his outstanding contribution and a big thank you for everything he does.
