COPENHAGEN, Denmark is the goal destination for 9-year-old BMX rider Trixie Trays.

Trixie has only been competing in the British Cycling BMX National Series since March and yet she already has a maiden National win under her belt.

The latest event took place in Birmingham and another National Race victory means that she has an official ranking of 3rd in the UK.

Competing against girls who are older and have more experience isn’t a deterrent whatsoever and with the top 16 qualifying for Copenhagen, Trixie has earned her place there next year.

Last year she was third at the British Championships and won the Regional Series so the trajectory is only up and up.

Travelling as far as Cumbernauld in Scotland, where she placed in second and third, the talent and commitment is there for all to see.

Going all over the country doesn’t come cheap though and so her parents are hopeful that local businesses will be willing to get on board and sponsor this young star.

On Friday July 19 at 18:00, the Royal British Legion are hosting Kim’s Fishy Friday, a charity event located at 2 Marsh Road, TQ12 2AP from which the funds will go towards Trixie’s European dream.
