CYCLOPARK, Kent was the location for the British Cycling Cyclocross National Championships, making for a weekend full of excitement.

This is the grand finale of the season on the national calendar and Mid Devon Cycling Club were proud to showcase four of their outstanding riders.

Kila Kilburn kicked things off in the 55-60 age group on a notoriously icy and challenging course. Demonstrating impressive skill and determination, Kila delivered a strong performance and confidently crossed the finish line, securing a well-deserved silver medal.

On Saturday, Lauren Fox competed in the under-14 category and was one of the leading favorites after her impressive 3rd-place finish in this year's National Trophy series. She had a fantastic start, quickly establishing herself in 2nd place by the end of the first lap. Despite her admirable effort, she was unable to close the gap to the leader on her home course and ultimately finished with another silver medal.

Overnight, the temperature dropped to -5 degrees, resulting in a 30-minute delay to the start. Several changes were made to the course to ensure the event could continue.

This did not deter the final two MDCC riders, Eva Fox and Lara Dix, from racing in the junior category. Eva had a strong start and worked her way up the field, while Lara struggled with the conditions at the beginning and had a slower start.

Eva experienced a couple of slips and lost a few places, but Lara steadily improved with each lap. Both riders battled it out during the final two laps, with Eva finishing in 13th place and Lara in 14th place nationally.

Congratulations go to this quartet for their hard work and impressive achievements.
