BOVEY Tracey 2nd XI are just five points above the B Division danger zone after losing to fellow strugglers Clyst St George by 103 runs.

Bovey (162pts) are in a three-way scrap with Clyst (157), Teignmouth & Shaldon (161) and potentially Ipplepen (175) to stay up.

Morgan Potgieter top scored for Clyst with 56 in a total of 236 all out. Bovey collapsed from 93 for two to 111 for seven on the way to 125 all out.

At that same level, Teignmouth & Shaldon are hovering just above the relegation trap door after a 48-run reversal at Bideford cut their safety margin to just four points.

The team T&S have to stay ahead of is the aforementioned Clyst St George, who visit Hazeldown this Saturday for a pressure cooker encounter.

Bideford’s lad-and-dad combination of Jack (69) and James Ford (49) took the running total up to 100 for two. Ford senior kept going until the tally reached 159 for five and 252 was the end total, with T&S being bowled out for 204 in response.
