DAWLISH Coaster Laraine Gibbins took part in the Sportiva Torbay Sprint triathlon last weekend and finished in a time of 1:34:39. The event included a 750m sea swim, followed by a 20k bike ride, then a 5k run. Laraine finished 1st in her age category and 20th female overall.

The club also had a good turnout of Coasters at the ECCT River Run 10k in Exeter on Friday night. Charles Edmonds was the first Coaster home - he came 24th in 42:23, Elwyn Howell in his first race as a Coaster was 55th (1st in M65 category) in 46:30, Sarah Edmonds was 76th in 48:36, Debbie Drake was 94th in 50:25 (1st in F55 category), Phoebe Eleanor Cullings was 191st in 59:57 (PB) and Melanie Goslin 246th in 1:05:44.

A strong turnout and respectable results for all!
