KINGSTEIGNTON Bowls’ ladies' side were due to be in SDLBL action at home against Torquay Kings on Tuesday 21. Unfortunately though, it started raining so hard that the all-weather surface was completely waterlogged. Play was abandoned after just a few ends and so now this fixture is due to be rearranged.

The same goes for the over 55’s Y Division visit of Ipplepen at KBC. This match was cut short after seven ends with the surface again being unplayable.

A solitary match did survive the inclement weather on Wednesday 22, the lucky team being the X Division over 55s. away on Bitton Park’s lawn, it finished 35-21 to Bitton, the league points being split 6-2.

This outing did still have to be cut short owing to a mutual decision by the club captains, but at least the fixture was fulfilled one way or another.
