ANOTHER new event on the running calendar for Bovey Valley runners was the Wray Trail organised by Winding Paths, and conveniently right on their doorstep.

Starting in Mill Marsh Park the Wray Trail follows the old railway line heading through Lustleigh and onto Moretonhampstead with the Half Marathon taking the full out and back route, whilst the 10k was out to Lustleigh and back.

Being a local race there was a great turnout of Bovey Valley Runners with great times from all, despite the heat.

In the 10k – Jenny Wiliams 1:00:16, Richard Gray 1:06:13, Rachael Motherwell 1:09:53, Maureen Fitzpatrick 1:13:55, Tracyann Tweedie 1:22:22, Yvonne Truter 1:44:21, Julie Gibbons 1:44:26.

And in the Half Marathon – Steve Cooney 1:48:15, Emma Start 1:57:47, Amii Shelley 2:17:12, Sarah Forey 2:17:12, Claire Harisson 2:31:56

Up in London, Sinead Jefferies completed the Hackney Half in 2:05:28, whilst Sally Shoolbraid was in the Lake District and competed in the Windermere Marathon with a great time of 5:11:12.
