The Teignbridge Art Society presents their second lecture of the season, which is brought to you by freelance History of Art lecturer Lynne Gibson.

Until the 1970s, an Art History student may well believe there were no women artists in the entire history of Western Art, as none appeared in key texts.

This lecture will discover Old Mistresses and look at contemporary women artists. Lynne originally trained as a fine artist and has taught painting, drawing and printmaking in higher and adult education. She lectured as an art historian for the universities of Sussex and Bristol where she introduced 'Understanding Art' to the Lifelong Learning programme and residential summer schools.
