YOUNGSTERS at Westcliff Primary School in Dawlish competed to carve pumpkins for Halloween.
Councillors Linda and John Petherick were invited to judge the children’s artistic efforts.
There were 114 pumpkins to judge from reception class to year 6.
Cllr Linda Petherick said: ‘It was very difficult to choose the winners as all the pumpkins were very good, the imagination of the children has been incredible.’
Amy Boyne, representative of the PTA, said this year they had more pumpkins carved than ever before.
She said: ‘Well done to all the children of Westcliff school for getting into the spirit of Halloween.’
