Teignmouth Carnival Committee's Teignmouth Music Festival returned bigger and better than ever, with thousands flocking to the Den to support it on Saturday, writes Peter Williams, of Teign Music.

The renowned music fest, now in its third year, was sponsored by Teign Music and Palm FM.

The focus on the day was for new young bands from the Torbay and Teignbridge areas to showcase their material and for many of them it was the first time they had appeared on a large outdoor festival stage with a large sound system.

Four-piece band Shotdown kicked off the festival with a mixture of covers and their own material with confidence which belied their tender young ages.
