Teignbridge Council is showing landfill waste the red card during this year's World Cup as it prepares to go on tour with a new limited-edition England recycling bin. The distinctive red and white 'twin-bin' can be used for tin cans and plastic bottles as well as general waste, and will serve as a visual reminder for footy fans around Teignbridge to recycle their empties throughout the tournament. It's one of only 11 bins of its type in the country, and was produced especially for the World Cup by Linpac Environmental. The company made the bin available to local authorities through a prize draw. Teignbridge was one of the 11 winners. To celebrate the World Cup and encourage more people to recycle 'on-the-go' while they're out and about, Teignbridge will also be running a competition open only to those who are seen using the bin during the World Cup. Staff will be keeping an eye on the bin throughout its tour, and anybody spotted using it will be offered the chance to be entered in to a draw to win a pair of tickets to see their favourite Devon-based football team play.
