WORK has started to revamp the play park at the Sainsbury's at Penn Inn roundabout, with work expected to see completion at the end of the year.

The existing play park has become so rotten that the structures are being taken down. They were closed and fenced off last year.

The park has had a long history, with the area having been a park with a public swimming pool until the late 1980s.

The oak trees in the park are some of the last remnants of the times before Penn Inn roundabout.
