A WOMAN from Teignmouth has admitted using a bank card that was stolen from the East Ogwell home of her boyfriend.
Lucy Hanks, aged 34, of Bitton Park Road, Teignmouth, admitted a fraud which involved using the card four times between April 8, 2022, when it was stolen, and April 12.
She also admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice by falsely accusing another person of carrying out the burglary in Tamworth Close, East Ogwell.
She denied the burglary and the case against her and her partner Ziggy Fakih was dropped. Fakih, aged 34, of Tamworth Close, and Hanks had been accused of stealing the heroin substitute methadone, bank cards, and soft drinks from the neighbour.
Judge Stephen Climie adjourned Hanks’s sentence until March 3, ordered a probation report and released her on bail with a condition not to enter Newton Abbot other than for Jobcentre or Drug Service appointments.
He released Fakih on unconditional bail and told him the burglary charge against him will be left to lie on file at the next hearing.
