Who will get your vote in the Kingsteignton West Ward of Teignbridge Council, where one candidate will be your next councillors?

Here's some information on each of the candidates:

MY name is Sue Danks and I have lived in Kingsteignton for over 20 years.

By putting myself forward for the  local council I want to support Kinfgsteignton West in the vital decisions about homes, jobs, services and our quality of life in Teignbridge which will affect us all in the next four years.

I believe Kingsteignton to be a cornerstone of community spirit to us all and often the smallest steps we take lead up to the biggest changes.

Let’s work together to continue to make our town great and let’s build on what we are doing together and let’s get the infrastructure in place for our young people, after all, they are our future.

I HAVE long term experience in public service, predominantly in criminal justice, both locally and nationally. 

I spent my working life in the public sector. I’d like to use my skills to be a local councillor, and I want to contribute further to the wellbeing of my local community. Currently I volunteer for the National Trust on two sites. 

I see the many issues you face as residents of Teignbridge DC. 

As your councillor, I would work for you and with you, supporting you in tackling challenges that worry you, being a listening ear, and a voice for all local people.

I’m concerned about the attacks on the welfare state. 

I’ll work in whatever arena to reverse the decline.

HELLO, I am Denise and have lived in Kingsteignton for 10 years. 

However, I have lived in the Teignbridge District for over 30 years so know the area very well. I have worked in a local secondary school and Age UK as a customer Service/Relations Operative.

I am now self-employed as a Personal Assistant so I can support those in the Teignbridge area on a more face to face basis. 

I attend church regularly and volunteer as a youth worker.  

I was a Breeze Champion for several years, which is a programme run by British Cycling to encourage more women into riding bikes for fun. We are experiencing unprecedented times, and as a result more residents are struggling with supporting their families. Being a parent, I understand these adversities. Supporting each other and our community is paramount. 

My aim is to support individuals, families and businesses, in the local area and endeavour to listen to the people and act on their behalf.

DAVE is a District Councillor and former Mayor and Chairman of Kingsteignton Town Council who plays a prominent part in promoting the interests of Kingsteignton residents and community. 

He has lived in Kingsteignton for 40 years and has raised a family here. 

Dave worked for the NHS and in Social Care as a senior manager and has been a volunteer Trustee of two local charities for many years, he works hard to bring about improvement to our town amenities and to improve our environment and opportunities for our residents.  

He strives to ensure the Council plays a significant role in building our community, actively supporting local people and local organisations.

There is much still to do in Kingsteignton West but knowing the ward and how both the community and the councils operate from my 8 years at Teignbridge District Council and more than a decade at the town council I am keen to devote the time, effort and that experience supporting you over the next 4 years.

It will be a challenging term of office with greatly reduced reserves and increasing costs to deal with at Teignbridge but even so further projects in Kingsteignton should still be considered with increasing involvement from both Kingsteignton Town residents and the council for all to enjoy.

I have enjoyed supporting Kingsteignton West, including Teigngrace, residents over the last four years and hope you will support me again.
