MAKE sure you vote on Thursday, in the local elections.
Who will get your vote in the Kingsteignton East Ward of Teignbridge Council, where two candidates will be your next councillors?
Here's some information on each of the candidates:
SAMANTHA BICKHAM, SOUTH DEVON ALLIANCE:
CANDIDATE chose not to submit a profile.
SARAH TRAVIS COCHRANE, LABOUR PARTY:
I HAVE worked for over 30 years in social care and for eight years in animal welfare, continuing to work to protect domestic animals and wildlife.
I am working to extend the resources for victims of domestic violence and volunteer in activities to protect and enhance the local environment.
These are issues I understand and to which I am passionately committed
Labour will tackle poverty issues, promote protection of the environment and support social care.
I stand as a Labour candidate because of my commitment to these issues.
ANTHONY DARRYL DEMPSTER:
I have lived in Kingsteignton for thirty years. As a qualified radiographer I worked for many years in the NHS as did my wife Sue. I am now semi-retired after running my business supplying lithotripsy to the NHS.
I wish to represent and serve the residents of Kingsteignton as an Independent district Councillor because I would have no whip to adhere to and could challenge or cooperate with any faction that will improve the lot of Kingsteignton.
I believe that no more development should take place without an increase in infrastructure which includes parks, allotments and expanded GP services.
I also would fight for more notice to be taken by District and County of the wishes of the people of Kingsteignton.
RACHEL CAROLINE EDMONDS, LIBERAL DEMOCRAT:
CANDIDATE chose not to submit a profile.
KEELEY GEARON, SOUTH DEVON ALLIANCE:
I have lived in Newton Abbot for most of my life and can proudly share I am part of 5 generations who live in the local area.
I am a Community Care Worker for a neighbouring Local Authority and work tirelessly supporting children, young people and families. I have recently finished studying at South Devon University, covering how political ideology impacts on legislation and policies to services and local communities. Because of this, I am determined to effect positive change wherever possible by giving a voice to local residents who want improvement to services.
I will also fight to protect our beautiful countryside and work with honesty and integrity. Now is the time for change, please vote South Devon Alliance!
REBECCA JONES, LIBERAL DEMOCRATS
I’M Rebecca. I’m a 19 year old student and I’m standing in Kingsteignton East.
Our community needs a diverse range of voices and Young people’s voices are often lost.
We need to make sure all our community is listened to and I want to be part of the solution.
I want to push for better mental health services which is such an important issue.
I want to help tackle climate change to keep Teignbridge green with better cycle access, more solar panels and better energy efficiency for our homes.
Our parks in Kingsteignton are centres for people to meet and they need to be more accessible for all.
RON PEART, CONSERVATIVE:
RON is a dedicated and experienced councillor who has lived in Kingsteignton for over 38 years.
He joined the town council in 2013 and was elected as a District Councillor and a County Councillor in 2017.

He has been able to secure some major projects for the town and address some of the ongoing local concerns.
Ron is the Chairman of the Town Planning Committee and a member of the Teignbridge Planning Committee.
He will always be a strong voice and represent residents when they need help on planning issues.
