MAKE sure you vote on Thursday in the local elections.

Who will get your vote in the Bishopsteignton Ward of Teignbridge Council, where two candidates will be your next councillors?

Here's some information on each of the candidates:

ARTHUR WILLIAM DAVID BAVERSTOCK, CONSERVATIVE:

AS a member of a local family who grew up along side the Teign Estuary I know and value the area around Bishopsteignton and commit to serving the needs of our community.

As I work in social care I see at first hand how people need the support and help of our District Council to improve their lives and enable people to make the most of their talent.

I will be working to deliver the best possible services to our residents in support of these goals.

We need to deliver the appropriate homes we need, create the jobs for our young people and ensure that we do so whilst improving things for upcoming generations.

To deliver these things I ask for your the of in the May 4th local election.

ANDREW KEIR MACGREGOR, INDEPENDENT:

ANDREW MacGregor - an experienced and independent councillor and an advocate for all residents.

I have been district councillor for Bishopsteignton since 2019 supporting and assisting residents across the ward with a wide range of issues, including planning, housing, waste and nuisance. I believe it’s important to put residents, local businesses, as well as retaining the beautiful setting of the village, first.

I have campaigned against unreasonable developments across the district andhighlighted unsafe developments proposed for Bishopsteignton,  most recently the proposed Forder Lane site to be included in the new local plan. I will continue to campaign for the Teign Estuary Trail, against sewage releases in the Teign and loss of designated undeveloped coast and, working alongside the Parish Council.
