A TEIGNMOUTH artist is set to exhibit his work for the first time since before the pandemic.
Artist Des Maxwell Clark’s watercolour interpretations of the seaside town, like the one pictured, will be on display at Teignmouth Arts Action Group’s gallery on Northumberland Place from next weekend.
An exhibition focusing on landscape, the gallery opens on Saturday, March 22 and will run until March 28.
It will be the first time Des has exhibited a range of his work in Teignmouth since before the pandemic.
He has a particular insight into landscape as he has a doctorate in geomorphology.
‘That's the science of landscape basically’ Des said.
‘The interactions between rocks, water and atmosphere - it is part of our heritage’ Des added.
Des has exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London where he has twice won prizes for his work.
Other artists taking part are Clare Brown, Josie Gould and Jason Ewing.
Josie's work is meditative, exploring Buddhist themes of peace and wellbeing in lanscape.
The whole show is being brought together by artist and curator Douglas Anderson, who described it as: ‘An inspirational exhibition with four invited artists, each offering unique and personal responses to the landscape.’
