A WATER leak outside a Newton Abbot pub was caused by third-party damage to a pipe, South West Water (SWW) have said.

The leak outside the Swan Inn was first reported around 12.30pm on Wednesday, April 16.

At present, Wales and West Utilities are working along Highweek Street to upgrade the gas network.

A spokesperson for SWW said: ‘We have repaired a burst water main on Highweek Street in Newton Abbot following third-party damage to the pipe and supply has been restored to customers.

‘We are currently working to restore the area and will complete this as quickly as possible.’

Wales and West Utilities’ work in Newton Abbot is set to be completed by July, the Mid-Devon Advertiser understands.
