SIX new swan cygnets are already on the water in Dawlish.

The brood began to hatch two days ago and the whole family are now out on the Brook.

The six were born to mother swan Kimba and dad Bert.

Dawlish Waterfowl Wardens say they are ‘very excited’.

They said: ‘We love how enthusiastic everyone is but please be mindful during this time and give Kimba, the mum, and her babies breathing space and privacy.

‘Also Bert is being very aggressive with the other ducks that swim too close to the nest so please keep your distance.’

Dawlish Town Crier Bob Graham will be called to announce the new cygnets official names.

It is one of his official roles alongside Royal proclamations.
