THE great and the good from 4th Teignmouth Scout Group are in need of volunteers to help them clear an area of land behind its Scout hut.

Volunteers are needed from 10am until 4pm on June 10 to help clear the land, which, once cleared, will give the Scouts an outside space for use in the summer: firepit cooking and other, similar outdoor activities will then be on the cards.

A spokesman for 4th Teignmouth Scout Parent Committee said: ‘If you can spare any time the day, please come down and help!

‘Even if it is only just for a few hours.

‘You will be making a huge difference and create a space which all Scout group members will have access to, supporting your kids and community!

‘If we do not get enough volunteers unfortunately this project will not be able to go ahead and the space will be wasted.’

Those wanting to help should remember that it for adults only, as it is not safe for the kids yet.

Also, persons should: wear old clothes, gloves, long trousers and appropriate shoes; bring water and suncream if it’s hot; bring whatever gardening tools you have and, last but by no means least, bring along, friends, family or neighbours – anyone is welcome

The Scout group will provide free refreshments throughout the day as well.
